P.A.W. Stoppers needs your help to honor our furry Police Family Members!

Click on my picture to help honor me and my brave fellow K-9 officers!

P.A.W. Stoppers, Inc is a non profit organization that assists police canine units by raising and allocating funds to alleviate some of the cost burden on the police departments.

Monies raised through this campaign will be used on our current effort, which is to assist the St Louis County Police Department’s Canine Unit raise funds to help erect a memorial to honor the department’s working canines.

The memorial will consist of a bronze canine statue on top of a pedestal that will display the names of past, current, and future retired canines. It will also serve as a place to host memorial services to honor future retired and/or fallen canines within the St Louis County Police Department.

We hope to have this project completed by the fall of 2016.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Thank You for you Support!

The Pipes and drums are funded by the St. Louis County Police Welfare Association. The St. Louis County Police Welfare Association is a 501(c) 4 organization that provides financial assistance to the families of the St. Louis County Police who have suffered a catastrophic loss. The (STLCPD) Welfare association also provides the uniforms and drums for the Pipes and Drums, as well as the financial support needed to attend the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C. every year. The purpose of our trivia night is simply, to raise funds to relieve the financial burden of sending the band to Washington D.C. and allow more police officers to experience the national ceremony.

The Trivia Night was held at the Kirkwood Community Center on Friday February 26, 2016. Check back next year if you’d like to join us!

National Police Week

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world converge on Washington, DC to participate in a number of planned events which honor those that have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The St. Louis County Police Pipes and Drums have performed with distinction in Washington D.C. annually in the following events:

  • The National Organization of Police Officers (NAPO) “TOP COPS” ceremony, hosted by Mr. John Walsh
  • The National Emerald Society Bagpipe and Drum Memorial March
  • The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Candle Light Vigil
  • The National Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony at the S. Capital

Along with multiple ceremonies that occur during police week.

Respectfully,  PIPES N DRUMS BAND
